Anyone who entered the ‘haunted house’ at a children’s Halloween event in Wollongong last week is now considered close contact after NSW Health improved its COVID-19 counseling.

It is among the last 15 sites across the regional NSW to be added to state show list.

The local health district of Illawarra Shoalhaven, in a statement last night, said two confirmed cases of COVID-19 attended the community event held at the Thirroul Surf Life Saving Club last weekend.

“People who entered the reception hall at Thirroul SLSC on Sunday, October 31 between 4:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. are considered close contacts and should immediately be tested and self-isolated,” said a spokesperson for the LHD.

For those who have not been in the reception hall, the health advice is unchanged and they are still considered occasional contacts.

“The public health unit was unable to rely on consistent QR code records from this event and was unable to capture the exact times of exposure to the community,” said the spokesperson for LHD.

As such, health advice was provided to all customers who attended the venue during the duration of the event.
