NOVA Entertainment names key programming roles

NOVA Entertainment has confirmed the appointments of Mary Datoc and Michael McPhee as Network Editor and Advertiser / Operations Manager, respectively.

Reinforcing the programming leadership team in the lead role of Network Editor-in-Chief, Mary Datoc will oversee the enhancement, growth and evolution of programming content for Nova 96.9 and the Fluid Network.

Datoc returns to NOVA Entertainment after working closely with Peter Clay as a producer for the smoothfm weekend and guest presenter for nearly two years, during the station’s launch.

Datoc’s career spans over 25 years of expertise in the global media and entertainment industry, including 10 years in leadership roles within Channel V (responsible for Talent and Artist Relations, head of programming, head of on-air promotion and creative services), consultant for MTV based in Seoul localizing MTV’s international programming content for Asian markets before joining smoothfm, a stint with MC Saachi and playing a essential role in the launch of the Italian food and wine festival.

Dotoc, said: “I enjoy a warm welcome from the Nova teams and a good flow and after many years of absence it’s like coming home. I started my radio journey with Peter Clay, joined the Smooth team for the first few years and have come full circle so far.

“After spending years on music television in Australia and Asia, a stint in events and advertising, coming back to radio is exciting. Nova and Smooth are such beloved resorts that I’m so proud to be part of the special team behind it all.

Moving from NOVA Entertainment’s Star 104.5 on the Central Coast, McPhee’s appointment as Advertiser and COO at Nova 96.9 Sydney is a prime example of Nova’s commitment to internal career development.

In this role, McPhee will be responsible for the programming of operational aspects for Nova 96.9, the programs of the Nova network as well as his role of announcer.

Bringing a wealth of experience in regional and metropolitan commercial radio, McPhee’s passion for the media manifested itself from an early age, creating his own radio station for an elementary school project. Having debuted at the age of 18 at 92.9 FM Tamworth, he went on to serve as Music Director of Operations for SCA before joining Nova’s Star Station 104.5 in Gosford as Assistant Music Director. and advertiser.
