As the vaccination rollout in Australia strengthens, the death toll from the coronavirus continues to climb.
Victoria reported nine more COVID-19-related deaths on Sunday, while recording 1,173 new infections.
In NSW, there were 244 new cases and one new death.
ACT has avoided increasing the death toll – which now stands at 1,815 nationwide – but recorded 13 new infections.
ACT Health is currently working with nine schools across the territory to actively manage cases of COVID-19.
She and the Education Branch are working with schools to ensure COVID Safe plans are in place to minimize transmission when a positive case of COVID-19 can attend school while infectious.
“These school communities have been contacted and all affected students and staff are receiving support from ACT Health and the Education Directorate,” ACT Health said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Victorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews unveiled a $ 44 million program to revitalize Melbourne’s CBD.
Starting November 15, diners will be able to recoup 30% of their food and beverage bills – up to $ 150 – between Monday and Thursday of each week.
The package also includes $ 10.4 million to help businesses trade outdoors and at night, $ 15.7 million to energize the city’s calendar of events, $ 14 million to revitalize public spaces and 3 , $ 6 million to provide enhanced corporate concierge service.

Morrison says Australia is on track to have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.
