A single mum from Essex who went viral after partying on her child’s sports day says her famous ass has seen her receive hundreds of messages from men around the world. Katie Hannaford, 36, rose to fame after a clip of her unfortunate moment during a school sports day in Basildon was shared on the internet this week.
The business owner, who lives in the city, was taking part in a parent race at her eight-year-old’s school when she tripped and showed her underwear. The incident was filmed and has since been viewed countless times – and Katie says she is “loving every minute” of her newfound fame.
She says she was even recognized at her local Tesco and received thousands of positive messages – including some sent from as far away as Australia. And she says up to 500 messages have come from men calling her a ‘MILF’ – while others asked how single she was.

Katie, who runs an interior design business called Home of Hearts, said: ‘It’s gone crazy, I didn’t expect it at all. I can’t put words to how I feel but I loved every minute – I haven’t stopped laughing since.
“I thought something was on my face the way people looked at me when I was at Tesco yesterday – I had to face reality and remind myself why!” Katie said the reactions have been mostly positive, with people hailing her an “amazing mum” for being such a great sport.

She said: “The best comment I’ve seen was the one that said, ‘Don’t be a Karen, be a Katie’. Can’t take credit for it, but it’s my favorite! Someone else said, “You can take the girl out of Basildon…” and it’s so true.
“I got thousands of messages – at least 500 of them were from men from Greece to Puerto Rico to Germany to even Australia saying ‘How are you single?’ and calling me a ‘MILF’.
“My eldest daughter even got a message from someone on Vinted when they recognized her profile after seeing a pair of shoes she was selling. My youngest went to school the next day and before she even had the chance to explain what had happened, everyone was already saying it his his mother is now famous.
“I also got some really moving messages. One came from someone who told me they were in a really dark place, and the video made them smile for the first time in six months. .”
Katie said she’s also received messages from trolls, but the self-proclaimed ‘awkward’ mum said: “To haters, there’s nothing you can say or do that can hurt me or upset me.
“I haven’t gone out of my way to be funny or try to be famous, those things just happen when you don’t expect them. The whole world has seen my butt now, but that’s what it is.” is – I can’t hide, I don’t care!
“It’s not awkward, it’s funny – I don’t care about drama or conflict, I just want to have fun. I haven’t stopped laughing for days. When I went to Slimming World this week , I was told that I had lost 4 pounds and I think it’s just because of all that laughter.
“My message to people is to have fun, be positive and laugh. Haters can keep hating, don’t be a Karen, be a Katie!”
