Dozens of other school children have been placed in isolation for seven days after being exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the classroom.

All Year 6 students at Orana Catholic Primary School have been required to self-quarantine after the Willetton school was added to the list of recent notifications.

Other Catholic schools with recently confirmed cases include Aranmore Catholic College in Leederville, La Salle College in Middle Swan and Queen of Apostles School in Riverton.

Carey Baptist College reported a case at its Harrisdale campus several days after the private college’s Forrestdale campus recorded a cluster of 13 infections.

Public schools with recently confirmed cases include Applecross Senior High School, where a 12th grader attended between Wednesday and Friday last week while infectious, Kent Street Senior High School and Yanchep Secondary College where a math teacher has tested positive.

An entire pre-primary class at Dianella Primary College and their siblings will also have to self-isolate for a week.

Several TAFE colleges have also reported confirmed cases, including Kalgoorlie and North Metropolitan TAFE’s Balga, Perth and Joondalup campuses.

It comes as WA added 224 new COVID cases overnight – including 213 local infections – as authorities continue to await test results in the remote community of Jameson.

Jameson, also known as Mantamaru Community, was locked down after two people there tested positive for COVID over the weekend.
