Sales of Tesla Owners Club of Australia’s red musk-flavored vodka have taken off

Originally conceived as a new fundraiser for the Chuffed “Close the Gap†campaign, it seems to be taking on a life of its own. Over 500 bottles were sold in the first week, and Mark Tipping (who pitched the idea) tells me they now have an overseas order of 2,500 bottles.

The Tesla Owners Club of Australia is authorized to use the Tesla logo. Mark says TOCA approached Mountain Distilling and asked them to mix vodka with a musk aroma. All Australian kids love it musk sticks – they have been around for a long time and are still available at Woolies. The taste takes you back to grade school (when you could get 2 sticks of pink musk for a dime), with a hell of a kick. The drink has an aftertaste with a strong lollipop flavor.

For those who are concerned that the club will encourage the consumption of strong alcohol, it should be remembered that an unopened bottle will gain in value and likely become a collector’s item.

All funds raised go directly to the Chuffed Campaign. TOCA does not earn any money from Vodka sales. Everything will be audited.

Chuffed is a global crowdfunding platform that supports social cause campaigns – like uniting Western Australia with the East by filling a critical section of the National Electric Vehicle Charging Highway. Electric vehicle owners will be able to have their fries hot and eat them too, with a remote Western Australia truck stop planning to install fast chargers that run on leftover fryer oil.

This will keep the great Australian road trip alive and make crossing the paddock a dream race. Maybe the wife and I can get time off to babysit and try it out for ourselves.
