Artistic concert for the best architect of SA

South Australian visual arts and design association Guildhouse has appointed state government architect Kirsteen mackay to their board of directors, amid a wave of director appointments.

Mackay, who has headed the South Australian Office for Design and Architecture since 2015, has been appointed to the Guildhouse Board of Directors alongside the Director of JL Lawyers. Talia Begley and visual artist Christian room.

Guildhouse President Andrew Cohen said the organization, which represents nearly 1,000 members of South Australia’s visual arts industry, was “delighted” to welcome its three new board members.

“Their knowledge and expertise will make a significant contribution to our work to strengthen the connectivity and profile of South Australian artists and to grow our growing social enterprise – Guildhouse Professional Services,†he said.

The three new Guildhouse appointees fill positions left by former president Jane jeffreys and outgoing members of the board of directors Robyn mcbride and Rod Lindquist.

Originally from Scotland, Mackay left the UK in 2012 to become the senior government adviser to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.

In 2013, she joined the South Australia Office for Design and Architecture – first as an Associate Government Architect, then Government Architect in 2015.

Mackay is also a Deputy Chairman of the Adelaide Park Lands Authority.

Meanwhile, Begley joined the law firm of Adelaide JL Lawyers in 2013 as owner and director, after seven years as a senior partner at Gadens Lawyers in Melbourne.

The University of Melbourne graduate has nearly 20 years of corporate and tax law experience and also sits on the risk and finance committee of multinational consultancy firm Sensei Project Solutions.

Hall works in art and object design and is the former Creative Director of JamFactory’s Metal Design Studio.

The contemporary artist also works for the state government as an independent assessor for the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministry, where he assesses funding applications for public art and design.
