Contrary to rumors that nothing happened here, Australian history is vibrant, full of drama, and even revolutionary in some ways. His stories will engage students intellectually and lead them to marvel at their own society, without cringe.

Australia’s history dates back over 60,000 years, during which one of the world’s oldest cultures became involved with the environment. The arrival of Europeans (students can explore if this was an invasion) brought catastrophic changes for First Nations peoples, but also forged an advanced democracy for white men, as the struggles of women and First Nations peoples have made it more inclusive, making it a global success story. .

Australian history in Victorian schools will get a fresh start with the introduction in 2022 of a completely revised grade 12 study plan. Based on the latest historical and educational research, it will provide students with the opportunity, through independent inquiry, to study exciting episodes of our history from original sources, creating a sense of wonder, curiosity and respect.
