5. Filip Kurto (Macarthur)

Already at his third men’s club in the A-League, the Polish goalkeeper has established himself as one of the league’s most trusted goalkeepers.

Kurto won the 2018-19 A-League Goalkeeper of the Year award in his debut A-League season at Wellington Phoenix.

The 30-year-old followed Nix coach Mark Rudan to Western United for the past two seasons, before joining Macarthur after Adam Federici retired.

4. Andrew Redmayne (Sydney FC)

In terms of national honors, Redmayne is among the best players in league history, winning five championships and four firsts at Sydney FC and Brisbane Roar.

The 32-year-old has been in the A-League for 13 years, playing at five clubs – Central Coast Mariners, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne City, Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.

Redmayne was also awarded a Socceroos cap in 2019 and also made another appearance for the national team in the recent World Cup qualifiers in June.

3. Jamie Young (Western United)

The England Under-20 international of Australian descent returned to Australia in 2014 with Brisbane Roar and has excelled ever since.

Young won the A-League Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2017-18 and was also twice crowned Roar’s Best Player in One Season.

The 36-year-old has moved to Western United for the 2021-22 season where he will reunite with former Brisbane coach John Aloisi.

2. Tom Glover (Melbourne)

After passing through Tottenham academy and sitting on the first-team bench on several occasions, Glover came of age after signing for Melbourne City in 2019.

It wasn’t until the end of his first season at City to establish himself as number one and it’s a position he hasn’t given up since.

Glover was in goal when City won their first A-League championship last season with a 3-1 victory over Sydney FC.

1. Mark Birighitti (Sailors)

The 30-year-old stopper has had a magnificent season in 2020-21, being a crucial part of Central Coast’s run for third in the league at the end of the regular campaign.

Birighitti has played for three other A-League clubs – Adelaide United, Newcastle Jets and Melbourne City – and was also signed with Premier League side Swansea City in 2016, but did not make an appearance.

He received the A-League Goalkeeper of the Year award last season, alongside Sydney FC’s Andrew Redmayne.
